One of the great things about having two people who take photographs in the same home is the benefit of difference. Often, you may take the same shot of an object only to find it looks totally different through each person’s lens. It’s also helpful when you examine a situation from many angles. I do like angles and looking at anything through many lenses is beneficial.
Currently, helping a friend with some real estate looking and enjoying it as it forces me to look through a new eyes. This action increases my ability to see from yet another angle which benefits me and those who I share. How many times have we gone shopping with someone and tried something on only to ask them what they think? Often. We tend to value other people’s views and they can help us.
Stepping outside ourselves and exercising our skills is mutually beneficial. Who knows where the real estate hunt will go? We learn to trust ourselves and the view through our lens becomes one we can count on and return to in times of need. Always keep switching up your view and learning from what you see.
It is always fun to go to a website and simply browse. Nothing in mind just to see what you will come up with. That happened this weekend and it was such fun. Everything above would make a fabulous entry space. With no room in mind simply picking the pieces at random this entry has turned out amazing. The wallpaper would also be great on a office wall in a small space giving the illusion of a functional space. The mirror could be propped up anywhere or hung in an entry way which would provide a rustic yet elegant addition. The elk rug would be uninteresting artistic touch underfoot. The throw would certainly keep you cozy when relaxing or reading a book or simply draped on a chair. It could also travel from room to room in the house providing a neutral accent. The coatrack…I have always had something for coatracks. They are functional yet make such statement. Finally, the dresser. This is a statement make wherever you placed it in your home. Great for corralling clutter in an entry and future use in a bedroom or office. What have you come up with when you simply browsed around? What space did you end up decorating?
With the colder weather blowing through it got me thinking about how wonderful it would be to sink into a lovely outdoor hot spring. To climb into the warm steamy water with the lovely majestic scenery sounds simply divine! Add a beverage of your choice and what a lovely way to relax. We all need to take some time for ourselves especially as the holiday season approaches and we all are running to and fro. Incorporation some time in your day for you will help you de-stress and appreciate the quiet. Take time today whether it be 10 minutes or more to relax and daydream…you will be glad you did!

As a fan of classic movies, I am always intrigued to revisit a past time through cinema. There is always a plethora of details which manifest themselves in the locations, architecture, interiors, furnishings and yes, wardrobe. Watching the style of the times is always the wonderful visual treat depending on the time frame being depicted.
This time, it was 1964, with all the color and mod fashions with dashes of elegance. Sex and the Single Girl with the fabulous Natalie Wood, Tony Curtis and Lauren Bacall, illustrates how over time the question remains the same and how we may be distracted by the daily minutiae we still seek out the love we want in others even though it may be quite the adventure getting through the obstacle course. Lasting relationships may take more effort than the typical “Meet Cute” but they are worth it. Go out, seek the love you desire and deserve or better yet, turn to your loved one…
With the weather becoming colder, the best way to keep warm is to layer up. How and what you layer is your personal choice but we all do not want to walk around like the marshmallow man, even though marshmallows are divine! Layers can be sleek and comfortable which allows for you to peel them back as necessary. The pieces above are classic enough to be mixed and matched but make strong statements on their own. Who does not love a gray classically cut wool jacket? If red is not your flavor; then, maybe a more neutral shade would work. Cords are one of those warmer options which can be dressed up or down. Chambray shirt…that says it all! The booties are worth owning in all colors as they are polished and yet practical. I own these and simply could not ask for better comfort & style. Socks are a fun way to keep your toes warm have fun with them. Layer, Layer Layer…How would you wear it?
I am back after a lengthy scholastic sojourn. Yes, I have finished my degree and am back to blogging. You never really have an inkling of how much time, effort and energy learning takes. The seasons changed and now we are in one of my favorites- Autumn. There is a slight chill in the air and the delicious autumn flavors abound. Let us welcome the month of November, the month of Gratitude and all that it brings. Glad to be back!
